Well here is another mini practice cake.  I thought it turned out pretty good.  It's called a petal cake.  Very simple but pretty at the same time.  Loved doing this cake and I'm happy with it!!!

Since this is just a mini here is what an actual sized one would look like.  I just haven't had the excuse to make one yet.

Here is a very tastey cake.  It is a pumpkin spice cake with a cinnamon cream cheese frosting.  It is a my first ruffle cake.

At least now I know what I will do differently next time I make it.  It is a very fun easy design. I'm also waiting on my stuff to make the flowers, but this was just me trying my own design.  I thought they turned out pretty cute.  I've decided I can't use two pans that are only and inch smaller.  Next time I will make them at least two inches different so you can tell the difference between the two layers.  But not to bad at least you can see the ruffles and they didn't just blend together.

Now I need to play with black food coloring a little more.  I struggle to get my frosting to look really black.  This turned out to be more of a gray.  But I get better every time I try.  Hope you like it!!!

My First Fondant Cake Ever!!!!

So this is my first attempt at a fondant cake.  Everything is homemade.  It is a White Vanilla cake with butter cream icing and then a marshmellow fondant frosting around that.  

I really wanted to do black dots but I was rushed for time and forgot to buy black food coloring.  So I really think it could have looked better.  But still looked pretty good for my first time I have to admit :-)

Since this was my first time making this cake and fondant there are so many things I'm going to do to make it better.  Its so fun to have an excuse to make a new cake.  I loved it and can't wait to do more.

I also love to make everything home made.  I'm not the kind of person to use a box cake mix or frosting from the store.  Everything here is from scratch and everything that I ever make will be.  Hopefully I will post some more cakes soon.  I'm planning on doing a couple more in the next few weeks.
